The AQ-4100C uses a 2-stage filtration method to remove contaminants from shower water. The first layer is made up of a blend of Zinc and Copper and is known as KDF 55 Process Media. It reduces Chlorine levels and helps to balance and enhance the water's pH. Will the AQ-4100C be compatible with my shower?
A typical shower connection pipe will have a 0.5 inch (1.27 cm) diameter and the AQ-4100C has been designed to work with fittings of that size. Therefore, to confirm it's compatibility you will need to measure the diameter of your shower pipe.
If the pipe isn't 0.5 inches in diameter it will still be possible to connect the AQ-4100C, but you will need a step-down or step-up adaptor. These can be purchased in most hardware stores and easily screw over the current pipe's thread. Although don't forget to use plumbers tape when using an adaptor for a watertight connection.
Can I use my own shower head or hand-held wand?
It is possible to connect a different showerhead or wand to the AQ-4100C, but it is not recommended. Any new attachment that is connected should have a 0.5 inch (1.27 cm) diameter to connect to the filter and it should ideally work at the same flow rate of 2.5 gallons per minute.

When connected to a water supply with a flow rate in the allowed parameters the AQ-4100C will typically use 2.5 gallons per minute. This equates to around 4,000 minutes of showering for its full 10,000-gallon lifespan.
Can I use the AQ-4100 for drinking water?
Drinking some of the water during your shower poses no risk. However, it is not recommended that you use the AQ-4100C as a primary drinking water source since it is not designed as a drinking system and has only been tested and certified under shower conditions and regulations.
Can I connect the AQ-4100C under a constant pressure application?
No, the AQ-4100C is designed to allow water to consistently pass through the system as it filters. If the system is under constant pressure and unable to release, the pressure introduced into the system during filtration can cause damage to occur to the unit or the filtration media.
